Nicole grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2023. She grew up as a pastor’s kid and has loved serving the Lord’s people from a very young age. She felt a call to ministry at church camp in 6th grade and began serving in her youth group as soon as she got home. In high school, her family walked through a season of extreme brokenness, which culminated in her parents' divorce and the loss of her church family. This season led to confusion in her faith, and eventually, she began to doubt God's goodness. She began to believe that He was distant and not concerned with her personal affairs. She soon walked away from the church and tried to find “goodness” in other places.
In early college, she lived life on her own terms, wanting nothing to do with the church. Halfway through her junior year, she hit rock bottom and realized that running from God had only left her more broken than she already was. In an effort to “try out the Christian thing again,” she set a New Year’s resolution to finish a short 5-day devotional. As she took this small step of faith, God encountered her in a radical way. It felt like He began to re-introduce Himself in a way she had never known Him before. And instead of one short devotional, she jumped headfirst into reading the entire Bible before the end of the year.
As she did this, the Lord began to show her just how personal he was. In every story she read, God proved Himself to be deeply involved in the lives of His children. Whether it was when He revealed Himself as the God who sees to Hagar, the fourth man in the fire to Shadrach, Mesach, and Abednego, or the Man who wrestled with Jacob, He wasn’t removed or far off; He chose to come close.
After coming to this realization, Nicole became passionate about other people coming to know the Lord in the way that she had. She became involved in her church’s leadership college and then came on staff for 3 years, where she worked with their youth students. Nicole then felt called to pursue higher education and get her degree in counseling. As she prayed through this, she felt the Lord highlight Dallas to her and began applying for her master's and jobs in the Dallas area. Knowing how hard it can be to wrestle with faith as a young person and having experience working with teens, she was thrilled to find out about Collision. She is passionate about supporting their mission of seeing every student have a personal encounter with Christ in the same way she has. She is excited to support the team as she continues her education and leans into the Lord’s plans for her in DFW!
