Tyler Roland

Mission Coordinator

Tyler Roland has served in student ministry for 18 years in the Twin Cities, where he was born and raised. He gave his life to Jesus at a youth conference during his freshman year of high school and soon sensed a call to ministry. At first, he imagined a future in worship ministry—until he realized singing wasn’t his gift. Instead, God used youth leaders and caring adults to inspire Tyler to deepen his faith and recognize a clear call to student ministry. After some back-and-forth with God, Tyler enrolled at Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN, earning a degree in Christian Ministry and a Bible certificate. He now serves as Pastor of Student Ministries at Edinbrook Church in Brooklyn Park, MN.

A true coffee enthusiast, Tyler loves grabbing a cup with fellow youth workers and students to talk life and ministry. His “love language,” however, is ice cream. When asked for his favorite flavor, his answer is a simple, enthusiastic “YES!”

Over the years, Tyler has ministered in both large and small churches, always with a strong desire to meet students where they are. He has coached soccer, track, and basketball; helped lead on-campus Bible clubs; and been heavily involved in Breakfast Clubs across the Northwest Metro of Minneapolis.

Tyler is married to his high-school sweetheart, Laura, and they have three amazing kids—Oliver, Bennett, and Eleanor. He’s passionate about equipping this generation to share the gospel with their friends and schools, believing that every follower of Jesus is called to reach their world for Christ.
